NOTE: I'm having my own private Claire-Kingsley-readathon this month. According to several other authors' newsletters, she recently lost her husband after a sudden illness. I figure that purchasing a few of her audiobooks is a way I can help.

3.5 stars

I like a geeky couple, but these two were almost too geeky. They bordered on immature. However, it was still a sweet, light-hearted rom-com.

3.5 ⭐️ I adored Faking Ms. Right and this one just didn’t hit the same. I liked Hazel and Corban overall, but they both seemed too much like caricatures to me. I hate when authors try to write a “smart” character by making them spout random facts all the time. Sometimes it was hard to take them seriously as intelligent, highly educated people.

Their romance was heartwarming, and it was definitely a slow burn. I don’t hate a slow burn, but it felt like the story was just dragging in the middle. I was so happy when they finally got together and were in love. If the book was a little shorter, I think I would have enjoyed it more.

Cute nerdy romance

Took me a little longer to read than most books recently but ended up being a super cute, fun story.

This was such a cozy and fun book to read. It took no brain power and it was easy to follow.

This book follows Hazel, who's in Everly's friend group. She is the second character in the group to get a book. It's the story of Hazel and her enemy turned love interest Corban. They became enemies after Hazel refused to accept that he created a questionnaire for people to fall in love.

This is because Hazel used to call him out on the internet for his theory. Corban ends up getting a job at the same college that Hazel is working at and they are forced to work together. They start acting petty towards each other and do harmless pranks at work, which I loved and had me hooked. The romance between them felt genuine and I liked how Hazel was never making Corban feel bad about being weird, like his parents did, or when he randomly shared facts when he was nervous.
