This is 113 pages of brilliance. Rigoberto González’s beautiful prose leaves you speechless. At its core, this is a piece about hunger. Hunger for food, for life, for peace, for more. AUTOBIOGRAPHY FOR MY HUNGERS is a must-read if you’re looking for a quick read this Latine Heritage month. González mentions the fatphobia and homophobia in our community. He talks about the ableism from the world as he gets chronically ill. There are discussions of mental health, self-harm, suicidal ideations, and eating disorders, so please tread carefully. There’s also a weirdly sexist and misogynistic few lines in this, so be cautious about that as well! I wish this was a tad longer and more in depth about the things he has experienced!!
