Well written and horrible, yet fascinating account of the murders of the Osage tribal members in the early 20th century. American history of violence, and corruption, against non white citizens is atrocious and this is one savage narrative. In this work the Osage tribal citizens were systematically murdered for their money, and the entire state of Oklahoma was complicit. Not only were tribal citizens forced to quiet their culture and adopt white culture but were never accepted despite this, and their rights as human beings were curtailed. A hard, but well worthwhile read, by everyone.

This was a slow read. I enjoy non-fiction, but this was written like a dense book report and lacked a writing style. The story is so important and I expected to get more out of this than I did.
