I definitely think that some people could really benefit from this book. It offers lots of insightful wisdom. I also really liked the personal moments shared by the author and the real life stories from clients of hers. But for some reason I just didn't personally enjoy it a whole lot. Maybe it is because I didn't know there was going to be so much philosophy in this book (a subject I never find a whole lot of joy from).

Also this is a minor detail but could the publisher actually make the asterisk's larger since I could never see them and would go back and reread a page trying to find it.

This book was sometimes a little boring and hard to get through. However, it gave me the opportunity to think about how the concept of self loss applies to me. How often have I lost my sense of self in a friendship, allowing people pleasing tendencies to take over? How many people have thought they had built a friendship with me, when I never really gave them a chance to truly know who I actually am? It gave me a lot to reflect on in terms of friendships that have fallen apart over the years.

at first I found the message was resonating but the more I read and the more it was repeated, it just didn’t feel right. I didn’t feel like I was getting any guidance on how to reconnect with my Self, just reiteration that I wasn’t connected to it. I found the more the message was repeated the more frustrated I was feeling with reading it over and over again.
