This book is a great feminist read! From what I remember most of the stats focused on the UK/US, but I could still relate to many of the experiences that were mentioned in the book.

Brilliant book, but somehow feels so far behind where we are now, which just shows how much has changed within the sphere of activism within the last decade. Primarily talking about the chapters on intersectionality (scarcely dealt with, in my opinion) and men's rights (in which Bates seems to conflate sexism with misogyny, by failing to account for the inherent power dynamic of sexism). Nonetheless, this is a comprehensive and startling insight into Bates' Everyday Sexism project, would recommend as a jumping-off point for other books.

"It's women's past being ignored and overlooked in the history books, it's our literature, art and music being a 'niche': it's our whole lives being seen as secondary, other, lesser - not equal".
Please read this book.

I can't process and remember nonfiction as audiobooks. Also need to listen in big chunks (which I did when I was commuting/travelling)
Loved the part I listened to though and would like to come back to it
