This was a good end to the Parasol Protectorate Quintet. It is nice to actually see a series end with ends tied up. In this outing, Alexia, Connell, family, and entourage head off to Egypt due to a summons from the oldest vampire. The ending of this series sets up things for future offshoots, quite nicely. A really fun series overall, start with Souless.

An excellent end to a series. Bittersweet but reasonably so. And it gave me one of my favorite archetypes ever, a woman king. Yessssss! Love it!

Everyone knows how difficult the last book in a series can be - not only because it is just that, the last book in a series that you probably loved, but it is also often the hardest book for the author to write. One not only needs to leave the reader feeling satisfied, but also wrap everything up nicely. Therefor it's maybe not so unexpected that I was a bit nervous going into this, but I am here to say that Gail Carriger fucking nailed it.

This book might even actually be my favorite one in the entire series.

As usual, it made me laugh out loud and feel like I wanted to pack all my things and move to London and just drink tea all day like a sassy lady with my fabulous friends, gossiping about that outrageous actress with her hideous hats. It made me warm up to the characters, especially our newest little Macoon, Prudence, who was both cute and hilarious and that I loved.

But 'Timeless' actually also made me tear up. It is not often I get dragged so completely into the evil plots of authors, but this time I was absolutely hooked, shocked and involved from start to finish.

You see, Carriger had me caring for all these characters. I felt for them, and that made this experience both stressful and amazing at the same time.

In my humble opinion, this series couldn't have gotten a better ending. I really will miss Alexia, Akeldama, Conall, Biffy, Prudence, Ivy and the rest of the charming ladies and gents of the Parasol Protectorate world.
