This was a great story and one I wish I would have read sooner.

I loved jumping between timelines to figure out what lead Marin to be who she was. I don’t think the story would have had the same impact if it had been told chronologically.

Despite not having gone through what Marin went through, I definitely related to how lonely she felt in college. Moving away and meeting new people is hard, no matter the reason.

I LOVED the ending. I was afraid certain actions would feel forced, but the characters made decisions when they were ready.

All the hype about this book made me expect it to be a bit underwhelming but I actually really really loved it. Did it make me reach a new reading low, crying in a public pool on vacation? Yes. But it was such a moving book.

What a beautiful, lonely book. I felt very sad and very hopeful.
It’s a quick read, the estimates my phone gave me were just under three hours. Off topic but borrowing digital books from libraries is the best decision I’ve made in a while: ESTIMATES FILL MY NUMBER STARVED SOUL. Also great for on the go reading? conclusion: borrow ebooks from libraries you cowards.
I loved how contained it was, just a few days and a few people, it’s the kind of story I wish I was skillful enough to write.
I’ve been queerbaited so many times I did take me a bit to believe this wasn’t one of those books. Thank god. Truly, an inspiration. I’ve always wanted to write a queer romance. And even though this isn’t really a romance, it’s the first thing I’ve ever read that resembles one.

It oozes loneliness and longing.
