There are portions of this book that cuts deep, and then other pieces of her life and trauma thrown in that was dark and very icky, and seemed really unnecessary.

This reads more like a memoir than true crime coverage.  It is a real middle of the road book for me.  I was very interested in the subject and wanted to learn more about the case, but I think I’d have learned more about it if I’d done my own research (which I will now do).

Awesome account of football program scandal @Colorado University in Boulder. No repercussions from the school for dishonesty r/t players, coach, administrators of athletic department.  Chancellor of the university. turned a blind eye to everything. Mistreatment of female employees in sports department as well as many female students in general. The female students who were the recipients of the sexual misconduct from the football players were bullied and threatened that their lives would be ruined if they attempted to report incidents. Boulder Colorado police involved in this scandal as well.

Intense, compelling, feminist, heartbreaking at times. It was an audiobook I couldn't stop listening to.

This book is so difficult to read. I had to skip parts because the descriptions of the author’s own sexual assault were too much for me to take in. That said, it tells the story so compassionately and brings light to the devastation effects of rape culture in locker rooms and in college campuses across the country. So well written. The crossover between the author’s investigation and her own personal abuse made this read more difficult to read, and I ended up
Skipping several pages because of personal  triggers.

I’m a bit surprised that this has such mixed reviews, as I found this memoir  to be a skillful blend of true crime and personal memoir. Let me say this, though, if you are coming to Tell Me Everything expecting intense true crime THIS IS NOT THE BOOK. This novel is just as much about Krouse’s own experiences as it is the case itself, but I don’t think it should be discredited for this fact. Is it a perfect book with a flawless investigation? No, but that’s what makes it human. I appreciate Krouse’s recognition that her personal history is what made her a unique fit for this case, despite the hardships she faced and the mistakes she made along the way.
