it was well written just a looong read for me. the characters and events were quite interesting I grew quite fond of some of the characters, and you really did feel the time passing, events that happened weeks ago in the book really did feel like they'd happened weeks ago.

after i'd gotten half way through I wasn't going to let myself dnf it, but it really did  feel like an accomplishment to have finished it :p

I’m convinced this whole book is a one-man con and we all got played.

Any fan of the Sandman will absolutely enjoy this book.

After three years, Shadow has been released from prison, and finds himself caught up in events beyond belief, as forces strive against one another for the very soul of America.

Gaiman once again delivers, and writes a tale that is both larger than life, and surprisingly small. The gods on this story are literal gods, yet each one feels like a person you could meet at a diner on any Tuesday. Shadow is a part of huge events, but the story focuses on him as the storm rages around him, which gives the story an odd aura. It’s like being in a cave sitting by a fire while a hurricane rages outside.

I also applaud Gaiman for his representation, (which is consistent across his writing). He includes gods from a wide range of cultures, and includes characters from several lifestyles. We love to see it.

While the story first came out over two decades ago, it was still very relevant to America today. And I think this one will sit in my brain for a while.

It was a very interesting read. The beginning and end became exciting and quick paced while the middle was kind of slow. Almost the opposite of what you’d expect. Interesting twist, but also kind of BS in an M. Night Shyamalan kind of way.
