The stories are well-written and some of them were really good, like For Esme-with love and squalor and Teddy. Unfortunately many of them felt rather dated or fell flat at the ending for me. Most of them did not invoke any strong emotions but I believe they simply weren't my cup of tea, rather than the stories themselves being terrible. They did hold my attention however, even when I wanted to speedrun through them at first.

Since this is a book of short stories, I'll go through with a list of ratings for each story.

"Uncle Wiggy in Connecticut" - 4/5
"Just Before the War With the Eskimos - 5/5
"The Laughing Man" - 3/5
