First 200ish pages I slogged through and detested
Then, it started to get kinda good as the threads unraveled
Then, the body was discovered and it was pretty much over. the ending didn't wrap up like I had hoped- it was pretty abrupt.
Overall, it was alright

This is not a book to read if you enjoy relating to and empathizing with the characters. Almost every single character in this book is a completely horrible human being. As such, there are a BUNCH of content warnings. With all of that in mind, it is also a captivating, plotty, pacey and well-written story. The setting was beautifully written as was the characterisation of all the awful awful wedding guests.

I really liked this one (who done it? kind of mystery where someone gets murdered and you try to figure out who did it)

The plot twists in this one were shockingggggg although it does take quite a while for the drama to really start.

It's been a while since I last read a mystery/thriller, and this was a good book to start with. It is a generic whodunnit mystery novel, with classic tropes-
Spoilercheating husbands/wives, high-end party, flawed/obnoxious characters, no one can leave, etc. .
While I felt as though the way the story was set up seems generic, the execution was solid enough that I genuinely enjoyed listening to it on audio. I enjoyed the characters as well. The multiple perspectives definitely helped the experience.
My major point against this book is the slow burn aspect. The book spends so much time (too much time) foreshadowing in the beginning that the only actual action happens in the last 50 pages. By the time the reveals/twists were uncovered, they lacked the emotional payoff they were supposed to have. If the author had kept the tone of the finale for the beginning part of the book, it would have been much more interesting.
Also, the part after the finale felt empty and abrupt. The book ended at a weird place without clarifying the consequences for the characters.
