I had no idea there were so many Slappy stories outside of the original Goosebumps trilogy (I actually didn't even know the Series 2000 books existed or that R.L. Stine was still writing!).

Overall this was a typical Living Dummy story where Slappy finds his way to a new family to torment. I do have to say that I enjoyed the twists at the end, the graphic horror, and the Slappy origin story! Fascinating.

Goosebumps. This is the series that kept me reading through my childhood. More than any other series, Goosebumps kept me interested in reading, and R.L. Stein is a wonderful children's writer. I applaud his efforts, and can't express enough my gratitude for the series.

Despite only being 124 pages long, I nearly didn't finish this. This was truly dreadful. Right from the get-go the shocking parenting on display nearly made me give up right then. The behaviour of the children in this book was far worse than that of the demonically possessed doll so that when the 'horror' started I barely noticed. The addition of the diary did add a little to the lore of Slappy, so there was that one redeeming feature, but otherwise just avoid!

I don’t know how I finished this.  I love the nostalgic vibes from reading Goosebumps books but some of them are so irritating.  Why is it that the parents NEVER listen in these books, like can we have one that they do?  I was going to give two stars but the ending was awful.  It made no sense and unless you love vomit I don’t know how it was enjoyable for anyone.
