Honestly leaning more towards a 2.5 but let’s say 3. I really wanted to like this but I’m not sure books w romance as a main plot point are my thing. The writing just came across cheesy which I’m not sure was the vibe I wanted. Also, I normally like magical realism but I think in a romance it just felt misplaced for me.

Another one by Casey McQuiston that I absolutely loved. I adore the writing/storytelling style. I find it easy to read through quickly although I listened to this one as an audiobook.

Loved the characters & their stories.

A unique, captivating story line.

5 stars!

I guess my take on this book is purely my fault for not reading the summary BEFORE I read the book. This was definitely not what I was expecting, but it was a great surprise! This story line was unique and I loved every moment of it!

What a gorgeous, gorgeous novel! One Last Stop is a radiant story of love and friendship and grief and queer liberation and found family and time travel shenanigans, and I loved every second of it. The cast of characters has my entire heart and August is one of my favorite main characters I've read about in a *while*. The way all the side plots weaved in with the main plotline was absolutely delicious to me - I never had a boring moment reading this book. It got a lot of laughs, and blushing-giggling-kicking-my-feet moments, and even some tears out of me, and that definitely doesn't happen with just any book for me.

Sometimes a romance hits just right. This is one of those times. Casey McQuiston, I owe you my life.
