This would be a fun book to read for a birthday themed storytime. Kids will have fun correcting all the backwards things, and the menagerie of party hat-wearing animals is adorable. There's a lot going on illustration-wise, so it's also good for one-on-one sharing -- that will give kids an opportunity to spot fun details like the little dust mite creature and the cat blowing into the wrong end of the clarinet. A winner!

The illustrations to this fun birthday song are reminiscient of [a:Jon Klassen|3118934|Jon Klassen|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1320343513p2/3118934.jpg] and some [a:Peter Brown|2907370|Peter Brown|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png] in style. They are detailed with many, though slightly muted bright colors, dynamic and extend the story beyond the lines from the song.
