I struggled through this book. The story is fantastic, the worldbuilding is great, and the writing style doesn't agree with me.
I can't handle the way the characters behave. It's not unrealistic, but...I think I just don't like their personalities.
As for the writing style: These books would've profited so much from a decent editor. I read at least 1 book a week usually; for this book I needed a month.

This was more like 4.5 stars. I have a love/dislike feeling for this book. Not sure why. It was certainly packed full of drama.. Perhaps too much so. But it still screamed of the drama, trauma, and laughter that made me fall in love with the series in the first place. I am looking forward to the next book!

I have enjoyed this series in audio format. Kim Harrison has created a wonderful witch in Rachel Morgan and a well rounded cast of supporting characters.
Narrator Marguerite Gavin makes each character come to life...she brings forth the emotions of Rachel and the other cast.
I highly recommend this series in audio format.
