While the execution was somewhat uneven, I was drawn in by the complexity of the characters (what really makes a person act like what we stereotypically think of as a "psycho"?).

The ending was overdone for my taste (too many red herrings and an overly dramatic climactic scene) and some threads of the plot are left unresolved, but I appreciated the journey throughout the book of assessing what it really looks like to have psychopathy, and how much impact that has on a person's moral choices.

i really enjoyed the characters and seeing the world/plot events from their perspectives (as people who don't feel emotions like others do). however, i thought the ending was rushed and while i can see the motive of the killer, it would have been way more interesting if they were included in the book moreĀ

It was an interesting mystery/thriller. I appreciated the way Washington, DC was described in the book. So many books set in Washington, DC get so much wrong, but this one had all the details correct. I could tell that the author spent a lot of time in the city. I found the characters interesting. Most of them are not very likeable, if there was only one perspective I probably would have gotten annoyed with them quickly, but I really liked them as a group and found myself wanting to read more about them. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this one.
