This was an enjoyable whodunit that takes place at a college with some special psychopath students and a killer who’s targeting them. The students don’t know who they can trust and everyone is playing games.

Keeps you guessing until the last few chapters with all the twists and turns right up to the end.

My only dislike is that the audio book was read by one person who was voicing chapters from multiple characters’ POV. Sometimes it took me a while to know and remember who’s head I was in.

While the execution was somewhat uneven, I was drawn in by the complexity of the characters (what really makes a person act like what we stereotypically think of as a "psycho"?).

The ending was overdone for my taste (too many red herrings and an overly dramatic climactic scene) and some threads of the plot are left unresolved, but I appreciated the journey throughout the book of assessing what it really looks like to have psychopathy, and how much impact that has on a person's moral choices.

Waste My Time 2022

Really promising blurb that didn't deliver and only annoyed the shit out of me. It could've been a better game of cat and mouse between the psychopaths who are being hunted down and murdered, but it fell off around the middle mark up to the very end. I just powered through for the sake of finishing the book.

I do appreciate the author's effort in debunking and sort of normalizing how psychopaths are actually defined versus how society perceives them (i.e. not all psychopaths are murderers, they simply are egotistic people who lack empathy for others).

i really enjoyed the characters and seeing the world/plot events from their perspectives (as people who don't feel emotions like others do). however, i thought the ending was rushed and while i can see the motive of the killer, it would have been way more interesting if they were included in the book more
