I liked the premise and build up of this story, but felt like the ending was a let down because I figured it out pretty quickly when the culprit was first introduced. I’m also not sure how I feel about the romanticizing of psychopathy.

I wanted more twists than this one had to offer. While I was highly intrigued through much of the read, as we got closer and closer to the climax, they started to lose me.

I like the concept of a group of psychopaths needing to come together to find a serial killer before they become the next victim, but I think the actual killer could have been uncovered in a more interesting way. One more twist that the reader never sees coming. Someone maybe hinted at but never really considered.

SpoilerAlso, I hated that Chloe murdered Will and completely got away with it. I understand she is a psychopath and that this was her plan the entire time, but why does NO ONE care? Will - while a horrible person that deserved jail time - was a college student that didn't deserve to die. And while the whole book is kind of a lead up to his murder it just went so smoothly that it was almost boring. How does one make a central revenge murder plot like that one boring?!?

Overall, it's an okay read, but not one I'll be rushing out to tell everyone about!

While the execution was somewhat uneven, I was drawn in by the complexity of the characters (what really makes a person act like what we stereotypically think of as a "psycho"?).

The ending was overdone for my taste (too many red herrings and an overly dramatic climactic scene) and some threads of the plot are left unresolved, but I appreciated the journey throughout the book of assessing what it really looks like to have psychopathy, and how much impact that has on a person's moral choices.

i really enjoyed the characters and seeing the world/plot events from their perspectives (as people who don't feel emotions like others do). however, i thought the ending was rushed and while i can see the motive of the killer, it would have been way more interesting if they were included in the book more

The beginning really drags, but once it gets going it really gets going!
