No. Just no. The storyline itself was fine, but the style of writing just seemed really... off to me. Every other sentence was a fragment, and sometimes I could barely understand what was being explained. I just wanted a quick read, but I was hoping I would enjoy it.

Barely has any tension nearing the climax. Riley is a dull protagonist, even for a YA. I'll still be picking up the next one to see if it gets better.

Cute for a children's story.
I enjoyed reading The Immortals series, so I decided to give this series a try since it's related. Definitely doesn't hit my age range, so I doubt I'll finish the series.

6.5/10, didn't feel like a compelling enough fantasy story.

This was a quick read (read it within hours). I enjoyed this book when i was reading it, but after I finished it I found that not much actually happened. It was very anti-climatic.

I did not really enjoy this book and I doubt I will continue reading this series. It is not that it is a children's book, I read those often enough just because I'm bored, but rather the main character, Riley, is not compelling to me. She acts like I would expect of a twelve year old, but she is just not interesting as an adult. I do think some children may would like this book, but it is not my style.

Very annoying 12 year old girl dies, ends up in a bureaucratic afterlife, gets a promotion and ends up as a ghost buster (who you gonna call?) along with some awkward boy. And then they do some ghost busting (I ain't afraid of no ghosts) and that's basically it. I would put a spoiler warning here, but you get all this information from the book description too ...
Anyway, let's quickly move on to something better ...
