Originally picked up this book because I wanted to read the spin off series Once Upon A Broken Heart. I had heard so many great things, so I wanted to check this one out too. This book had me gasping and wanting to flip to the end of the book almost every chapter. I honestly wasn’t sure what was real and what wasn’t! Enjoyed it so much and can’t wait to pick up the next one! Wish there was a bit more spice, but I believe it’s YA, so I can see why it didn’t. Definitely captured my attention!

I really enjoyed this book, as it gave me the Alice in Wonderland vibes I love. Unfortunately most of the characters annoyed me, but the strange twists kept me reading to the last. I love the idea of strange and wonderful mysterious new worlds and I wish Scarlett had spent more time experiencing the magic of Caraval than worrying. Hopefully the next books explore more.
