Amazing story of a family with a transgender child. So well written so amazing how they deal with it from the time their child is 3 until 5th grade.

This is a tough one to review. The writing is good, and the characters are believable. Most importantly, we need books like this. i'm rating it 4 stars for that reason, but I hesitate to give it that review because it is IMPORTANT.

However, it was too perfect and too easy. I would love for this to be the experience for trans kids and their friends and families. Unfortunately, there was a point at the end that had me groaning because it was too facile.

An amazing book about a very relevant topic. The struggles of a transgender child who knows from an early age what they want in a family that's supportive and encouraging, but is that what they need? In the end, the book is about the struggles and triumphs of an entire family. The book is told from multiple points of view, which keep the reader interested from the first page to the last.

I enjoyed it, but it read kind of like a non-fic trying to be a fiction.

I wanted to like this book more, but it never happened. I listened to the audio book, FYI.

The reason for 2 stars is for 2 reasons: 1. Many times the book seemed completely unrealistic. 2. The author belabored every point in the book over, and over, and over. And then belabored the point in the fairly tale.

I only finished this because it's for my book club; otherwise, I would not have.

This book is about a family and not just one child part of a family. It was mostly about parents handling the world and wrapping their child in a bubble
It was a great read
I liked the writing
The Thailand part —— not so much.

The story was a beautiful one. I enjoyed the family and their journey. However, the style was wordy and choppy and that became distracting... and, at times, boring.

Listened on audio, which I don’t think was a good choice because the reader illuminated the choppy voice.
