i didn’t not like it, it was kind of fun but mostly only okay, im kind of over the whole shady government organisation is out to get the people with the super special powers stories, and it didn’t really  live up to what i liked about the atmosphere of the raven cycle

Only 4 Stars simply because The Raven Cycle is difficult to follow up. The book is a little difficult to follow because Maggie keeps a lot of secrets until the second half. Also as a warning for Pynch fans: Adam is not in this book a lot and there is very little of him and Ronan together. I really liked it though. Definitely a more mature version of the Raven Cycle. Maggie’s writing is clever and funny as usual. Definitely recommend to TRC fans.

Back in the day, I was a huge fan of The Raven Cycle. I even wrote fanfic for it! So I figured it was high time to bite the bullet and read this sequel series! Maybe it would've been better if I hadn't, because I don't know how she managed to do it, but Stiefvater somehow made dreaming boring. Ronan is still Ronan, Adam is still the ultimate bore (As an INTJ, I can see everything he does coming from ten miles away), and Hennessy read like a watered-down Kavinsky knockoff.

It was nice getting to see more of Declan, who was one of the most interesting characters of the original series, though. The plot was fun, for the most part, but the characters were a big let-down, and in Stiefvater's work, it's usually the characters that shine. Not sure what happened here.

Don't know if I'm gonna continue reading this series or not.

wow tbh i feel like the ending rlly pulled this book together for me im like attached now HAHAHAH like halfway through i wasnt sure if i was even gonna continue but ending like that i just have to keep going. at first it was hard to get through cause of how many different stroylines and characters there were and the new characters werent all that likeable in the beginning but i like how the end tied it all in. idk im still like so confused ab the plot tbh but like the raven cycle im sure ill get into it more as the series goes on
also DECLAN IN THIS STORY he might be one of my favs to explore tbh just cause its so different to what i expected and i loved his little plot w jordan. ugh idk this is like good but it took a little to get into it but im hoping now the rest of the series will be better. also idk how i liked the changes w like lindenmere and everything it was just definitely different. IM RLLY CONFUSED JAJAHAHAH but i will def keep going!!!!!!!
ong also still love ronan like so much also liked more diversity in here

I can't help but to marvel at Maggie Stiefvater's ability to give her characters so much personality. As with her other books in the Raven Cycle series, I enjoyed the different character perspectives, that to me seemed to add many more layers to the story - the continuation of Ronan's story, the changes in how he views his abilities and the changes in his relationships with the people around him, the differences between Jordan and Hennessy, the perspective of the dreamer hunter and her battle with right and wrong. I was also not expecting to learn and come to understand so much more about Declan and his role amongst the Lynch brothers, but that felt like an important part to me. I also have to mention how impressed i am with the author's immaculate writing style - there's just so much wit, emotion and thought put behind it, that I can't get enough of it. This book has brought me so much joy over the last couple of days and I am so excited to read the rest of the series!

Of course I loved this book, but it did take me considerably longer to maintain my interest in it, maybe until halfway or so. Of course as soon as I was really hooked at 85% it had to end so soon!! Took me a bit to take to the new characters, but once I did, I did. I was honestly expecting to hear more about Bluesey and, while at first I felt a little disappointed about it, I'm glad for it now. I do miss Noah though. I also loved getting into Declan's head in this book. I feel for him. That's all.

Edit, morning after finishing. I dreamt of the ocean last night. There was a tsunami.
