Engaging retelling with beautifully detailed, slightly gory illustrations. My children enjoyed following the boat journey theme in the illustrations throughout the book. Points off for yet another story in which a woman is given to a man like property. It accurately reflects centuries of history, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Read for 5420 class

I love how the illustrations are indicative of a medieval tapestry. However, the tale is a bit hokey, as is typical for Camelot-esque stories. (Thanks, Sir Thomas Malory.) However, since I was unfamiliar with the tale of Saint George and his patronage of England, it is an informative story.

A great classic fairy tale with beautiful detailed illustrations. It’s a little long, so I’d recommend reading it to kids with a longer attention span, or reading just a few pages at a time.

Amazing illustrations paired with a very exciting story! I liked it a lot. Great for those students who still want a picture book, but are ready for something a little longer and more complex.

This beautifully crafted romantically illustrated tale is of Saint George the Dragon Slayer’s adventures. The artwork is incredibly beautiful and intricate with full detail. For use with children, I think this would be an amazing tale to tell with props and a craft. The text itself is more advanced for juvenile readers rather than easy readers but the pictures more than make up the difference.
