The first time I read this series, I really enjoyed it. Not too much of a stretch. I love King's work and I've enjoyed really everything he's written. But when re-reading this, I find my interest and patience waning. It was torturous to get through Wizard and Glass because I abhor love stories in general and this book was getting on my nerves even more, because it's all focused on birthing the "chap" and if there's only thing I care about less than love stories, it's children.
The first time around, I could keep going, reading well into the night, because I had to see how the story ended. But I know how the story ends and so when faced with the prospect of another book, I just can't find the energy to keep going.
Sorry, Mr. King. This series is clearly a one-read wonder.
