if a memoir by a woman, whom i had never heard of until a month ago and of whom i’m still not sure who she exactly was for the irish population, succeeds to keep me clamped to it, it definitely deserves 5 stars. i’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading about nuala’s life, even if only for the brutal honesty in her writing. i’d recommend this book to literally everyone and not knowing nuala should not hold you back as through reading this book you feel like you’ve known her all your life.

I really liked the parts where she reflected on her life, but a lot of the telling about her life didn’t really work for me. She kept saying names of lots of people with no introduction like I should just know who they were. Or names of pubs or places as if the reader should know where they are.
