Family dynamics drive the plot in this novel set in Marin County, California. In this case, the family dynamics are affected by the high levels of stress experienced by every single person in the family. This is an engaging, quickly-plotted read, with some of the characters responding in decidedly over-the-top ways to any challenges to their view of themselves as perfect people who never make mistakes. A family full of drama queens! which makes it into quite a page-turner.

A pretty dense book for so little plot. Maybe five things happen, and everyone is anxious, thus making me anxious.

This is a great book. She touches on so many pressures that families face "to keep up with the Jones.". I especially appreciated her description of the Irish dance world. It was pretty spot on.

I read this book in basically one day! But I always really like books with switching perspectives.

Really enjoyed this book

I read this book while on vacation--coincidentally--in San Francisco. I was actually in Stinson Beach & Muir Woods the same day I read those parts. Anyway, I still enjoyed the story and the way it came full circle.
