Second novel of this author and I loved it again. His writing and his characters are just so on par, I can't wait for his next novel. This one really made me feel everything, it ended on a final note and I could really feel for the snowy like setting.

Spoiler As for the mother. I get it-she wants to shut off a soldiers empathy when they are in the field and then switch it back off when they come home. I get it but it's such a dangerous thing to meddle with the mind as the case with Franklin proves. Which was so sad him killing himself but it had to happen unfortunately.

Fast-paced, yet gracefully written.

This book is an unbeatable giant despite being on the small side against most of its mystery-thriller brethren.

It has a beautifully-planned plot, a lineup of relatable, if not lovable characters, and the right amount of heart that makes this quick read an unforgettable rollercoaster ride.

This book is both a beauty and a wonder.

Each character has its own deep secrets and special personalities that give the book more flavour and allow the story to be appreciated more. Especially with the main friend group being sorts of bullies but because of deeper parts in their stories ( i am not trying to defend them but they give reasons to help the plot).

I don't know how to explain why this book is good but it just is. The romance that was not expected, trying to figure out the killer and even the psychology and ethics point of the book really make you think.

In addition, if you think the government wouldn't, they definitely would.

I felt meh about this book for the most part, but the ending turned me off completely. I liked the concept of this a lot and the science-y stuff was pretty interesting, but the ending seemed so rushed and it didn't satisfyingly conclude anything for me. I didn't support any of the romances. I didn't like most of the characters. I wanted to like this so badly, but I spent most of the book trudging through and pushing myself to read it. I never considered dnfing it cause I did want to see it to the end, but yeah that ending sucked in my opinion. I was so angry afterwards. This book just was not for me.
