I tend to like this author, but I don't think I liked this book. There is something tongue in cheek and contrived about this not so canon story.
There was something almost modern about much of the dialog, especially where the topic of intimacy came up.
It is a cute story, just not a great one.

I like how through Odom is with the story however, I could do with less of the other characters story and more focus on Darcy and Elizabeth. I liked this idea he had of the misunderstand and I liked how it did not blow up into a big thing between them. Elizabeth was able to figure the truth out and other things on her own and Darcy began being more open with Elizabeth and her friends and family once the proposal was accepted so this gives us an immediate difference in Darcy's behavior and attitude. I did not like that Jane's story was lacking where there was more focus on other characters that I could do without. I enjoyed this variation.

Liked it at first -- a what if scenario that changes how Elizabeth and Darcy get together. But by about halfway through, it become drawn out and the conflict between all characters disappears. It left me disappointed and rolling my eyes. Started out feeling clever, then ended up like fan fiction with a dozen Mary Sues. Also, some pairings change and *everyone* is paired off, in extraneous detail.
