great writing, but it devolves into miscommunication plots and the most compelling characters tend to be minimized. still plan on reading the next book though.

LOVED THIS SO MUCH! Gaimen-esque, with some Game of Thrones thrown in, and Indian Mythology for good measure! My ONLY complaint is sometimes years would pass from chapter to chapter and it would take a page or 2 to figure out how old the characters are now and such. No "2 years later" warning. BUT that also made the book feel more magical. Like a world where time has more meaning! In my top 5 now!

DNF at 34% I just don't like or care about any of the characters.

I got 30% in before the narrative’s tendency to tell the same scene from four perspectives annoyed me too much to keep going. Some VERY interesting concepts, but the characters left a lot to be desired for the execution.

This book took me so long to read, but I enjoyed it so much. The world was immersive and truly the star of the book.

Vast in scope and creative in worldbuilding. Interesting and believable characters.
