I liked this book, but I didn't love it. The previous Bridgerton books spoke more to me than this one did. Don't get me wrong: it wasn't bad at all, but it was just not completely what I expected. Eloise is one of my favourite Bridgerton siblings, so my expectations were a lot higher. I loved the beginning of the book, but I found it a bit boring after a while. The end made up for it in some way, but it wasn't enough for me.
Also: the s*x-scenes were so unrealistic, reading this as woman. Women don't 'explode', as described by Quinn, as easy or at all in the way the couple made love. I would have loved a more realistic representation.

I'm here after season 2 of Bridgeton and honestly I expected a lot from Eloise so I'm a bit disappointed.
I find the all "I need a mother for my children" plot really awful, plus Eloise is the least suitable character for this plot. I don't understand the writer's choice.
For the future reader, I enclose a list of Sir Phillip red flags:
1. no care for his first wife mental health;
2. unable to care for HIS children;
3. self-centred character (cares only about his plants);
4.
I'm sure there are more but I read it 10 days ago and I can't remember it all.
For me it's a three stars reading because I can expect this plot from my silly summer reading collection and also because I enjoyed reading it.
Moderate: Mental illness and Suicide
Minor: Violence
there are some mentions of violence towards children
