I picked this up primarily because Moon and Ba were doing story and art, and I'm a big fan of their independent work. This volume had less resonance for me --- it apparently follows a character from a previous miniseries and gives a muddled resolution. The art was nice, but I doubt I will buy a follow up volume.

This is a continuation of the BPRD 1946-48 story with fantastic art from Ba and Moon. I’m not sure where it is going from the ending. Definitely recommended if you are reading through the Mignolaverse.

One of the best stand alone horror stories I've read. I loved Simon and the vampire lord.
The art was sublime

I was a bit skeptical, as the art in this story isn't done by Mignola himself. But wow, this one was reeeeally creepy. Not every question is answered, not all backstories are told. But, damn, is this good.

This title is apart of a larger series of titles that surprisingly come from the same writers and universe that Hellboy is apart of. At first I didn't like the illustrations because they seemed too "cartoonish" for me but by the end I came to appreciate them in the story. I feel like I need to read more in the series to accurately say how I feel about this particular book. The story line was interesting but because it's apart of a larger series not necessarily about vampires, I may not continue.

This is a follow-up story to the B.P.R.D. tales set in the 1940s (namely [b:B.P.R.D., Vol. 9: 1946|3246200|B.P.R.D., Vol. 9 1946 (B.P.R.D., #9)|Mike Mignola|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1390124910s/3246200.jpg|3280955], [b:B.P.R.D., Vol. 13: 1947|7863399|B.P.R.D., Vol. 13 1947 (B.P.R.D., #13)|Mike Mignola|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1390618250s/7863399.jpg|11018778] and [b:B.P.R.D.: 1948|17864644|B.P.R.D. 1948|Max Fiumara|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1367456765s/17864644.jpg|25011789]). In this tale Agent Sanders, infected with the spirits of two vampires, goes Buffy the Vampire Slayer and heads offf to Europe to begin his work. By the end, he has gone full vampire and may have slaughtered many people (or witches) rather than vampires, and the agents of the B.P.R.D. may have to take him out as a rogue agent.

I wasn't that fond of Sanders as a standalone character, but this is a decent piece of work, moody and bloody in equal measures. Varvara makes another appearance to taunt Trevor Bruttenholme here as well. The ancient vampires we saw in an earlier story may really have something to fear in Sanders as he wreaks his revenge, and I am looking forward to the next episode.

This feels a lot like the original Hellboy stories, which is awesome. As always, I wish the art were a little more Mignola-esque, but they make a good effort. The character design is really outstanding and, as usual, there are some /great/ creatures herein. I adored the ending.
