I'm so in love with this series, just as much now as I was when I was a kid. I think it's so important for us to know about our own history, and as New Zealanders there isn't a lot directed at kids! This series, though, does it perfectly.

The voice was captured really well in this. The author had obviously done her research, and Rowan knew what was cool, and had all the lingo, and really sounded like a teen from the 80's. She worried about all the things a teen should be worried about, which a lot of authors stuff up.
