I enjoyed this one. Luvvie has a clear and distinct voice, which I really appreciated. It was a great quick insightful fun read of the “yes, go girl!” variety but in a better way than most in this genre.

Wow. I discovered this book through a podcast that Luvvie was a guest on. This piece of art instilled countless gems that I definitely needed to hear, that my younger self would also appreciate. It was like having those uncomfortable conversations that you really don’t want to have but you know you have to. It forced me to actually dig deep, peeling back layers of me that I had to get honest about— to discover my true authentic self. Live without fear.

Fantastic book. I really wish I had read this in 2017/2018 but alas, it was not yet written.  Luvvie Ajayi Jones narrates the audiobook, and I absolutely loved having both the paper book and the audiobook.

If you are on the fence about this book, see if her TED talk inspires you: https://www.ted.com/talks/luvvie_ajayi_jones_get_comfortable_with_being_uncomfortable?language=en

This book was cool! I adore Luvvie Ajayi Jones' voice as a writer because it is accessible and feels like having a chat with your favorite Auntie! The prompts and calls to action within the book were appropriate for their respective chapters. While I enjoyed the book, it took me quite some time to read this book, and it feels like I spent way more time with it than I should have given it was fairly digestible content. Overall, it is a lovely pep talk to keep you accountable for moving through life with fear rather than being stagnant because of it.

A self-improvement book that I found very relatable, even though I believe her main target audience is black women. I like her questions to ask yourself and the way she helps you examine what you’re afraid of. If you like Untamed, I think you would enjoy this one too. There is vulgar language to anyone that might offend but I think that just helps with keeping it real.
