I really enjoyed this book and read it within a few days. I enjoyed the spicy scenes and there were a few times were I was kicking my feet or smiling at scenes with either funny banter or heartwarming scenes. I also really enjoyed the different representation in this book, for curvy women, men in therapy and mental health, body confidence, loving yourself and letting others love you. There were very few spots that felt like they dragged a bit in terms of pacing.

Loved this emotional sports romance! The banter was totally on point, but the real talk and emotional relationship building was everything. I loved how Stevie learned to stand up for herself. I loved Zee’s mental health journey and how much he supported Stevie through hers. I loved the found family vibes. The spice was nice too! Will definitely be reading more books in this series.

I picked this up because it was BookswithChloe's August Patreon book club selection.
"Mile High" is a dual points of view romance that follows Zanders and Stevie. Zanders is an accomplished hockey player that has the reputation of being a playboy. Stevie is a flight attendant who just took a new job as one of the flight attendants for Zanders' hockey team. Stevie has vowed to never date a professional athlete after her traumatic breakup with her ex. Zanders never thought he could meet someone that means more to him than hockey. Is this just a one-night stand, or can Zanders and Stevie commit to each other for the long haul.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Both main characters were mature and thoughtful, while trying to cope with their own issues. Stevie was a well-rounded character that was equal parts empowering badass and soft. She is a little guarded when she meets someone new because of some toxic relationships in the past, but she still tries to have an open and understanding heart. Zanders had a lot of family trauma that he had to work through, and he owned it.
I felt like Zanders' and Stevie's relationship felt authentic and believable. Although they had a bit of a hate relationship to start with, they took things at their own pace and ended up being really great for one another. Neither of them wanted the other to be anyone other than who they were. Each was authentic and each brought powerful characteristics to the relationship.
I really enjoyed Stevie's story arch in particular. She worked to set up boundaries with those who have treated her poorly, but she never judged anyone else for having a relationship with the person who hurt Stevie.
I do not know who the next book follows, but I am definitely keen to pick it up!
