Abandon all common sense and reality ye who enter here. Straight up, you will not enjoy this book if it’s a dealbreaker for you when characters lack common sense and self-awareness. 3.5 stars.
I went into this hoping for a lighthearted and fun read, and that’s what I got. It’s not what I would call a good book. It’s a fun book. The saving grace is the banter. Lynn Painter is top notch at writing fun texting banter. Without that, it’s just a bad book. But I was giggling and giddy even through rolling my eyes at the weak “but we’re just friends” parts. I read this in one sitting, mostly because I was afraid I would lose my ability to overlook the plot in favor of the banter if I set the book down. But being unable to put it down earns some points.

skeptical at first, since i hated the prequel, but this was so witty and fun and the characters had great chemistry, so so good.

The romance felt a little fast for me, but I am definitely much more of a slow burn girly. I thought the characters were fun though and I would honestly read a book about the boy things don't work out with or with Ruthie as the FMC.
