Insightful analysis and discussion of the treatment of Muslim women. The chapter on Jihadi brides made me think about how I had subconsciously bought into the media bias that makes us see women, especially Muslim women, as passive pawns rather than people with agency. As Shakira is Australian it was interesting to particularly read how these analyses relate to Australia’s political and social climate.
