This is a decent Star Trek novel. It gets a bit convoluted towards the middle as it feels like there are too many things going on at once. Kirk and Bones come off a bit misogynistic towards one of the female original characters, which I guess can be seen as in character from the original 60s show. It does come together at the end in a way that makes sense for it and is a satisfying end for a Trek fan.
Note: The use of "rape" in my content warnings refers to a telepathic character having another character force themselves into their mind in a way that is analogous to rape but is not sexual in nature. The use of suicide attempt is also slightly misleading, as a character is framed to look as though they attempted suicide twice but presented in a way that could still potentially be triggering.

Graphic: Violence, Medical trauma, Suicide attempt, and Gaslighting
Moderate: Rape
