I had high expectations before coming into this book, ever since some people recommended this on reddit. And maybe i got my expectations way too high? This is just an okay book for me, sadly. It’s a decent book but maybe not as impactful as i expected it to be. It would have been a high-rated book for me if i wasnt left confused after reading it.
THE CONFUSION: Did Ral’s mom really sent those dms? Im just confused about this part. If it was her mom that sent those dms, then what about Julia? Did she saw Ral’s dm too but ignored it and blocked her in all of Barrett’s accounts? Then what about the phonecalls Ral made? She said she contacted the organization and also his agent but ignored her ? Why? Does that mean the Hockey organization was also to blame for not entertaining Ral’s message those years ago too? Idk, it just wasnt clear to me and it seems this problem was just ignored by the author and didn’t tell us the explanation and the solution of this conflict thoroughly. Its was only explained vaguely. The same goes with Ral’s mom, I’m disappointed that we didn’t get to see the conversation she had with Barrett where she told him about her situation with her mom. Like, it could’ve been a good scene but meh it was like only mentioned during the end. If only both of these things were explored more thoroughly in the book, i would have rated this higher but oh well, the smut scenes is more of a priority rather than fleshing out this story, i guess. Lol
Cute story though and very hot.

Started off strong then began to drag. Also quite predictable, and the characters felt more surface level to me. The idea that her mom sent the texts instead of Julia made no sense and was never explained. I think that entire scene should’ve been removed, it was just an attempt to add drama but was unnecessary . Will still read the fourth book to finish the series!
