A delightful introduction to the characters of The High Mountain Court. A tiny glimpse of what is to come. I should of read this first, oops!

A great little Novella for those about to start The Five Crowns of Okrith series or others, like me, who adored the series and wanted more.

A snapshot into Remy’s life with Fenrin and their adopted mother Heather which gives a deeper insight into the life they lived for twelve years. Hiding Remy to keep her safe, always moving from town to town.

This short story showed Remy as a frustrated young woman who made some bad choices, despite knowing how important it was to stay hidden. It highlighted just how protective both Heather and Fenrin were, magnifying Remy’s frustrations at remaining hidden, living a life on the run.

The plot in this didn't do much for me as I already knew what would happen after reading book one (probably should've read this first), however I loved seeing more of Remy and her found family. A. K. Mulford also does a fantastic job (once again) of describing the world so that it all comes to life. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

I loved the first major book in this series, but I felt this novela was a little underwhelming.

A quick introduction into the world and characters of Okrith. I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to reading the first full-length novel in the series.

It clarified two things but really could have been omitted as a novella imo.
