I absolutely adore Nabokov's virtuotic use of language. It really has a sublime feel to it. The plot begins to intensify towards the ending of the book, which made me beg for a climax in the last pages - and I wasn't disappointed.
I was left wondering, how much of a metaphor the blindness actually was! Love is blind indeed.

It’s like unrefined Lolita with no self-reflection from the pedophile character.

It is a good book. I like unlikable characters and old-style dramas. However, I think it could have done more to stay compelling throughout.
