I absolutely adore Nabokov's virtuotic use of language. It really has a sublime feel to it. The plot begins to intensify towards the ending of the book, which made me beg for a climax in the last pages - and I wasn't disappointed. I was left wondering, how much of a metaphor the blindness actually was! Love is blind indeed.
Graphic: Toxic relationship
Moderate: Child death, Chronic illness, and Gun violence

It’s like unrefined Lolita with no self-reflection from the pedophile character.
Graphic: Adult/minor relationship, Bullying, Child death, Death, Emotional abuse, Infidelity, Pedophilia, Toxic relationship, and Gaslighting
Moderate: Ableism, Gun violence, Sexism, and Injury/Injury detail

It is a good book. I like unlikable characters and old-style dramas. However, I think it could have done more to stay compelling throughout.
Minor: Adult/minor relationship, Child death, Death, Gun violence, Toxic relationship, and Murder
