Levithan is extraordinarily talented at depicting the relationships between family and how you can think you intensely dislike a sibling but love them anyways. I really loved that he didn't forget about why and how the conflict exists between the two brothers in trying to show the strength of their bond.

A wonderful musing on the nature of brothers, travel and life.

masterpiece.
never underestimate how having siblings impact all of your life.
the one thing worse than love triangle,  is love triangles where two sibling are into the same person.
I want to highlight so many passages.
[To think that your parents raised you the same, and that your genes combined the same, and that the rest of what has happened is all your triumph … or failure.]

I started this book early in December, but it was slow going because of the holiday season. Finally, yesterday, I sat down and read a good 100+ pages all in one day, which is pretty good for me. I got quite emotional near the end of the book, which I wasn't quite expecting. I was pleased, even if the premise of the novel is a little over the top. Danny was my favorite character, which I didn't expect.

It’s scary and exciting when you see yourself in both of the main characters. However, I feel like the last few chapters are extremely rushed and the book didn’t reach its full potential.

I had such high hopes because I love David Leviathan but I could not get into this book. I kept waiting for the one sentence to draw me in but it never came. He didn't even introduce the main issue until half way in and then the story and the romantic relationships aren't fully developed, although I did love the brothers relationship because you typically don't get to dive into a brother brother relationship.

This book honestly made me sad. Mostly because of how terrible Elijah's and Danny's relationship was in the beginning and middle. I was glad when they made up in the end, but was still disappointed by the over all ending -- I wanted to know more about if they were going to keep in contact, or if they were going to go back to how they usually viewed each other.
Either way, this was a lovely book and I enjoyed it very much so.

Sweet, gentle and lovely. Not earth-shattering or rousing. Perfectly Levithan

I read it all in one sitting, so that says something.
Still, David Levithan is one of my favorite authors of all time, so I have quite high expectations from him. And even though this book was wonderful, it didn't quite live up to his other work.
