I adore all of Megan Whalen Turner's books. It is a distinct pleasure to hear from Sophos in this one. I am waiting for Book Five.

Still another great book in this series with another great ending! While I thought the book was still captivating, I didn't love it as much as the last 3 books.

This book, this time told from Sophos' view is the continuation in "The Queen's Thief" series. Sophos is such a different character from Eugenides, but just as complex. It was great to see him grow into his own in this book. I won't lie though - I still missed Gen as the main character!

The best part of this book for me was definitely the ending. I loved the interactions between all of the monarchs, especially the relationship between Gen and Sophos. Looking forward to the next in the series!

I love this series. I don't always understand the politics, and I think some of the character's motives the author keeps so close to her chest that even when things are revealed, I don't totally understand how we got there. But the dialogue is on point, and the characters are wonderful. They are written in such a way that you care for the ones you are supposed to, even though they all have different personalities. Being able to write such a diverse cast endearingly is a triumph. I also love this world; a Mediterranean fantasyscape isn't terribly common, and I find it very interesting.

A Conspiracy of Kings, the fourth in Megan Whalen Turner's political fantasy series for young adults, focuses on the young prince Sophos, a quiet scholar who finds himself kidnapped, enslaved, freed, and suddenly king of Sounis faced with a band of traitorous barons who want to make him a puppet regent. I've been a fan of Turner's series from the start - it's clever fantasy for teens that is just the right mix of emotional journeying, mysticism, and politics - and this book certainly doesn't disappoint - in fact, it might just be my favorite in the series so far. A great choice for teens who like fantasy novels, adults who like fantasy novels, teens who think they don't like fantasy novels, and adults who think they don't like fantasy novels. So basically, everyone should give this series a shot.
