I loved it from the first to the last page! I was always reading thinking "ooh just one more chapter and I'll stop for now.." but that was difficult.
It was a perfect mix of witty, clever, raw and tragic.

I found myself rooting for the protagonist, a serial killer (in a way) - she was a really likeable character who kept me reading and engaged and I really wanted her to get away with murder!

i liked this book, the story itself felt very cozy - for a thriller. to me it felt very wholesome, which probably says a lot about me.
i wanted to love this book and i was going to give it 4 stars until about the halfway point.
pros ˃̵ᴗ˂̵
- amazing FMC. ruby simon is relatable and intriguing at the same time.
- really great writing style, was easy to follow.
- all the characters had substance, felt individual and important to the story.
- the story is still really interesting, i loved reading about her life and how it evolves over time.
cons ₊˚⊹⋆
- there wasn’t a sense of urgency to me which affected the pacing of the plot heavily.
- for a thriller, it wasn’t very thriller-y. at the start it felt very dramatic, and then tapered off.
- the resolution was very predictable.

The most unique thriller I’ve read in a long time. Drags you in from the opening chapter (read it, it’s 2 1/2 pages and you’ll know if you want to keep going).
Should be THE beach read of 2022.

The novel started well but it quickly got somewhat mundane and repetitive. Some parts of the plot sounded unrealistic and lacked tension. There was also hardly any conclusion to it all at the end. An okay book but nothing significant in my opinion.

Never have I really wanted that our protag to lose.
This was so incredibly boring and Ruby is just so bland and forgettable. I took so many breaks with this book and had to just skimmed the ending... which was so ugh. The author really enjoys taking the easiest shortcuts to solve everything, huh.
I can't even say that I'm glad I actually pushed through because wow.
