These stories truly show what a versatile writer Sanderson really is. I love this concept. It's so simple yet so intricate and somehow manages to take a somewhat common trope (that being making "illness" kind of a "superpower") and make it completely new. The novellas are always the perfect length, not giving too much information about pointless things and over explaining everything to increase page count, and end right when they should. In a way, I think Legion is actually a great place to start with Sanderson, because you don't have the giant commitment of the Cosmere to worry about, nor is the size completely overwhelming. You don't need to know anything about the premise of these novellas, or anything about Sanderson in general, just these opening lines:
My name is Stephen Leeds, and I am perfectly sane. My hallucinations, however, are all quite mad.
I mean, is that one hell of a hook or what?! Legion is criminally underrated, and something needs to be done about that.

Again, I loved the first two novellas, and reviewed them when I read them. I love the entire idea of a guy solving mysteries by middle managing his multiple personalities. His awareness of his hallucinations is fascinating. I just really enjoy his interactions with them. The third novella didn't disappoint! We finally get to meet Sandra, the one who helped him create the aspects originally to keep him sane. His deterioration was difficult to read. The deaths were particularly painful. Then the Matrix-esque scene at the end...! Yeah. There is no spoon. Then the epilogue twist...!!! Whoa. I loved it, and will probably be thinking about this one for a while. Thanks again, Brandon!

Before reading the last part of the Legion series I decided to re-read the previous novellas. I think it was a good decision because it really tied up the story. I am sorry to say goodbye to Stephen and his aspects. Especially J.C. But everyone deserves their HEA, and for them I think this was it.

Recommended if you like mentally unstable characters, humor and a good mystery.

I liked the lighthearted mysteries but there was a lot of cringe. The way mental illness is portrayed along with the racist stereotypes of some of Stephen's "aspects" (not to mention JC who is meant to be a lovable gun-loving racist "aspect") made me wonder if I read the same book as everyone else who gave these novellas glowing reviews.

So good. It was fun to reread the first two (which I'd previously read) right in sequence with the final segment. The idea behind this is so interesting and well represented in his writing.

Според мен книгата беше пълна с интересни идеи, но липса на интересен сюжет, в който да се развият.
