Damn. This book offered insight into the intersection of spirituality, social justice, and personal and collective liberation. “Inner and outer. Personal and social. Love and justice. Liberation” p18. Looking forward to reading more of Lama Rod Owen and exploring the Oakland-based sangha Rev. angel founded.

I listened to this book. It is probably a better read as I would have liked to save some highlights and grasped some ideas better. This isn’t a how-to book. It’s more of call to go inside and attend to one’s thoughts about social justice. A Call to work together and avoid the insidious influence of white patriarchal capitalistic behaviors and attitudes— even when they show up in our faith systems.

"Radical Dharma" was great. Lots of great thoughts about meditation as a way of fully sitting with discomfort instead of avoiding it, how love/rage/self-care work with liberation, and how to find the line between not withdrawing from the world but also not wasting your love on spaces that don't have love for you.
