What a beautiful book! Radio Silence is a heartwarming book on the friendship between two teenagers who are searching for themselves and their purpose in life. It talks about friendship, (sexual) identity, mental health, academic pressure and (parental) abuse. While the writing style and plot are at some points a bit messy and maybe not perfect, this book is so so important.

Radio Silence hit close to home in multiple aspects and I wish so bad I had read this book while in high school! I recognised myself a lot in both Frances and Aled who aren’t able to be themselves at school at all. But their friendship gives them space to find and be themselves.

I love the way Alice used art as a coping mechanism to let these teens escape their struggles and how she lets Frances and Aled slowly realise that university isn’t the only right choice. Their art can be important too.

Alice Oseman’s books are really hard to not like. They’re so easy to read and their characters are very real and likeable (except for Carol, please throw her in jail). The plot was sometimes a little bit predictable and the ending was somewhat unrealistic for me. But nevertheless I really loved this book!! Right now I only have one Alice Oseman book left to read!!

I just wanna hug Aled and Frances and cry my eyes out. The amount of joy the first half of the book gave me, is the equal amount of pain I went through in the second half.
I don't think anyone won't believe in monsters once they'll see Aled and Frances' mom.
Frances is such a relatable character, I've ever come across. And Aled every time I see him suffering it just stabs right at my heart. The whole point bout knowing ones' identity and sexuality, and why it is and it is not important is so well done, I merely have words to express.

Carol Last is an absolute fuckin terrible bitch!!!

The ending was just perfect and I don't want anything else apart from my two lil precious children to be happie<3<3<3<3<3

While I liked the relationships between Frances and Aled, Daniel and the ever mysterious Carys, the book just wasn’t for me. I had to quickly read through the Universe City fandom parts it just wasn’t for me and didn’t add that much to the story.

I like this book. I think the themes of finding out you don't have to get good grades and go to Uni really speak to me. It was something I also when though and still to this day think about. I think it's important for young people to understand that it's not the only way in life. School and often parents make you feel like you'll get no where and be no one if you don't go to Uni but that's not true there's so much else out there to explore.
