Ok, this book was more than I hoped for! I like thrillers but can sometimes feel they get a bit repetitive. This has a lot of twists and sudden (sometimes bad

I had seen rave reviews about this book. If anyone in any number of reading groups asks for recommendations, guaranteed this book is up there on the nominee list. It cannot be that great, I scoffed as I hit download to see what the fuss is about.

First off, this is less mystery and more thriller. It is very gory. It definitely needs you to suspend belief. It is a fairly simple plot with just one setting and a small cast.

If it was a film, it would be a Tom Cruise film where he jumps out of exploding buildings, gets shot, stabbed, attacked by rabid wolves, eaten by a shark and still limps to victory and defects the bad guy. I hate those films. I roll my eyes through those films so hard I get a headache.

Yet, I could not stop reading this book. I agree with other reviews; Darby was totally chaotic. The bad guy was insane. It was all so insanely chaotic.

But I ate it up. I have read it in less than 12 hours.

Darby is driving to see her mom when she gets stuck in a snow storm and has to pull into a rest stop. She finds a kidnapped girl in the back of a van and doesn't know which person inside has kidnapped her. There is lots of twists and I couldn't put it down!

Okay it’s official… I very much enjoy Taylor Adams!
I couldn’t put this book down and I mean I couldn’t. I needed to know what was going to happen next every single step of the way. There were some parts that I wasn’t in full on shock mode but when the shock did come in…. Baaaabbbyyyy lol.

If you’re into thrillers definitely will recommend… also I 100% plan on watching the Hulu adaptation of it. I can’t wait to see the differences!
