I don’t know how to rate this since it’s a novella/short story but I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was such a random read for me but I really liked the post apocalyptic setting and this steamy romance. I felt really drawn to this book for some reason I can’t really put my finger on. I just had a good time reading this and felt like it was kind of different. I loved the romance.

So good! Could have been a 5 star but there was no third act conflict?

So bad but I read it in 1 day? Less bad than the first book (last light) because smells are mentioned less often

I love the world Clair Kent has created, and I know dual POV is always gonna be popular, but I actually really love when a romance is told from just one POV. The logic behind that, for me at least, is that it’s sort of like reading a diary…and if done well, you don’t even feel like the absence of the hero’s POV leaves the story lacking. We still see Jackson’s character development, and the fact that over time his relationship with Faith does slowly chip at his walls, and by the end of their story he had gained a whole new perspective on what to make of their positions and abilities as a community.

Highly recommend if you’re interested in post apocalyptic worlds and of course romance, and I will for sure continue with the rest of the series!

It was okay. I didn't find it super moving or exciting. Just an average book
