Disclaimer: I love TJR. She's an auto-buy author for me and I will read her shopping list. Regardless .... this book wasn't for me. Its premise -to change my perception of true love and realize the dead and gone (pun intended) is not necessarily a bad thing didn't sway me. Plus, I didn't like any of the main trio. I found the MC, indifferent at best, boring and tedious at worse. And the two love interests one dimensional, overly attached and displaying both sort of toxic behaviour. (Who talks like that? Absolutely no one). Nonetheless, she lacked chemistry with both of them and should have ended up with neither. The only storyline I was invested into was the one with her sister. That, I can actually see as a growing to love each other kind of moment, as well as any precious moments with her parents.

This book starts out kind of cheesy and overwrought - the premise is decidedly wild for a book that is decidedly not a thriller - but once things settled in, I really enjoyed it. This book explores loving two people at once, how we’re different versions of ourselves in different relationships, and how we move on after huge losses. I think TJR’s later books are stronger, but this one definitely has her trademarks of pulling at your heartstrings and incredibly honest writing.
