FINALLY FINISHED!!!! i feel like a god. this took me 4 years to read (my fault, i read the whole thing twice as i took a break halfway through, forgot where i left off and started all over again) but i really enjoyed it. very challenging read as the language is anything but accessible but the world building and depth of the characters was worth it. i can finally watch the movie now and say that the book was better

I get the weaving-an-intricate-picture-of-religious-nuance-oh-and-I’m-critiquing-imperialism vibes… but did it have to be quite so wordy? Probably not. Am I writing this grumpily? Also yes.
Maybe my review will change upon later reflection. Rn just glad to be done.
